Project Methods

The research questions around which this project is organized center on the role of art (manifested in the form of decorated artifacts and rock art) and ritual in the expression of community identity and as elements of social interaction among pre-contact communities in the Carden Bottoms locality. Here we outline the series of field, lab, and analytic activities we are employing to answer those questions.
