Dr. George Sabo III and Dr. Jami J. Lockhart are project co-principle investigators, responsible for overall project organization and implementation. Sabo is the Survey’s Director and Lockhart is administrator of the Survey’s Computer Services and Archeogeophysics programs. Jerry Hilliard (UAF research station) is assisting Sabo and Lockhart. Dr. Ann M. Early (state archeologist) lends her considerable expertise in the analysis of ceramics, and Dr. Leslie C. Stewart-Abernathy (Survey research station archeologist at the University of Arkansas Winthrop Rockefeller Institute) is contributing information from his ongoing archeological excavations at Carden Bottoms phase sites. Survey archeologists Mike Evans, Aden Jenkins, Jared Pebworth, and Larry Porter are assisting with fieldwork activities and basic lab analysis. John Samuelsen and Deborah Weddle (Computer Services Program staff) are maintaining the project website and Samuelsen in also participating in the archeogeophysical surveys and related analysis and interpretation. Deborah Sabo (Survey publications program) serves as project editor for website, report, and publication content.

Two University of Arkansas anthropology graduate students, Leslie Walker and Rebecca Wiewel, are pursuing doctoral dissertation research as part of this project. Walker’s research focuses on artifact analysis and the identification and study of community artistic production. Wiewel is studying the collaboration between archeologists and Indians and examining the philosophical differences in each group’s perspectives on the past. Anthropology graduate students Duncan McKinnon and Adam Wiewel are also assisting with the archeogeophysical surveys and follow-up information processing and interpretation.
