UAM Archeological Assistant

The Arkansas Archeological Survey invites applications for a full-time position as Archeological Assistant to begin November 1, 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. This position is based at our UA Monticello Research Station in Monticello, Arkansas.
Job Description: Duties include fieldwork (some requiring in-state travel), collections processing and data analysis, record keeping, supervising volunteers in the laboratory and the field, and interaction with visitors and callers to the Station, all under the direction of the Research Station Archeologist.

 

Minimum qualifications (applicable equivalencies may be considered):
  • A Bachelor’s degree in anthropology or a related field
  • Archeological field and lab experience in North America, east of the Rocky Mountains
  • Experience in working with archeological records and collections
  • Knowledge of basic office software applications
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in Southeastern archeology
  • Experience working with the public

 

Salary: $30,000 with full benefits.
