Members of the Archeology Clovers and Archeodillos at the atlatl spear throwing competition with James and Emily as judges.
ArcheOlympics 2024 is in the books. Thank you to everyone who came out to play and to all of the coaches who helped them prepare for the events! This year, we had 11 teams competing for the new 3D printed 2024 ArcheOlympics trophy as well as medals in each of the four events: Archeology Obstacle Course, Trivia, and Atlatl Spear Throwing for Distance and Accuracy). This year’s final overall scores were close between the top four teams, but Jerry Cares (Melissa Alvarado-Perez, Oaken Pool, Tina Nguyen, Nathan Caudill, Jay Barrett, and Ashton Figley) from Arkansas Tech University took home the trophy!

Individual game medals were split among several of the participating teams and we had to resort to a few tie-breakers to determine the final standings for each game. Congratulations to everyone who played. And thank you for being good sports throughout the day and supporting your fellow archeoletes through all of the games.
Once again, the Arkansas Archeological Society provided lunch for all of the participants. Special thanks to Skye Pride for grilling the hamburgers and hotdogs for everyone!
The Society also gave out door prizes, including a year’s membership to the Society! Congratulations to Haylee Mills from Conway, our newest Society member!
And, of course, a big thank you to all of the professional archeologists and volunteers who came out to help run the events: Autumn Morse, Jason Kennedy, Collin Land, Sarah Knox, Nathan Dubinin, James Alumbaugh, Emily Beahm, Riley Chronister, Gillian Steeno, Rachel Tebbetts, and Mel Zabecki.
We hope to see you out there next year for ArcheOlympics 2025!
